RMT 925692 O ACL Buddy Powered Rail Diesel Car #304 – Model Train Junction: Quality Parts and Art Supplies

Painted in the attractive Royal Purple ACL scheme with silver lettering and circular ACL logo, each RDC carries a nameplate reference to ‘The Champion’, a flagship ACL passenger train.

While the ACL did not purchase any RDC cars, extensive testing of the Rail Diesel Car concept was done on various ACL branchlines in 1949. The ACL tested again on occasion but never did place a firm order. The ACL local trains continued to operate with locomotive-hauled conventional equipment due primarily to a substantial mail and express business on many local branches and connecting routes.
