This streamlined locomotive pulled the famous C&NW 400 streamliners between Chicago and the Twin Cities in the late 1930s. It features a Pittman motor, operating Proto-Smoke system, die-cast chassis, boiler, and tender, cab interior detail with engineer figures, die-cast leading, trailing and tender trucks, remote controlled Proto-Coupler, operating marker lights, precision ball bearing equipped gear box, constant voltage headlight, and Proto-Sound. This locomotive does not include DCS (Digital Command System) features because it has ProtoSound 1.0. Only locomotives with ProtoSound 2.0 and ProtoSound 3.0 include DCS functions.
Known as the Baltic in Europe and the Hudson in North America, the 4-6-4 was introduced in the early 20th century finding success in hauling freight and as a shunting model.
