Marklin 26549 Leig-Einheit/Leig Unit HO Gauge Steam Train Set – Model Train Junction: Quality Parts and Art Supplies

This is a Marklin 26549 Digital German Federal Railroad (DB) Class 38.10-40 Leig-Einheit / Leig Unit Steam Locomotive and Tender w/Sound, and (2) Pairs of Type Gllmghs 37 Leig Unit Boxcars. The locomotive is formerly Prussian P8, has a boiler with 2 domes, and Wagner smoke deflectors. The tender is the four-axle box-style. This train is the version from around 1956. The locomotive features an mfx digital decoder, controlled high-efficiency propulsion, sound effects generator, powerful motor with a bell-shaped armature that is built into the boiler, 3 axles powered, traction tires, 72270 smoke generator can be installed in the locomotive, and the headlights are maintenance-free, warm white LEDs. The headlights and smoke generator contact will work in conventional operation and can be controlled digitally. The steam locomotive operating sounds and the sound of the whistle, as well as the acceleration and braking delay, can be controlled with a 6021 Control Unit or Mrklin Systems. Other operating sounds can be controlled with Mrklin Systems. There is a close coupling between the locomotive and tender and the locomotive has a detailed engineers cab as well. The brake hoses, prototypical couplers, and protective cylinder rod sleeves can all be installed on the locomotive. This train includes (2) pairs of Leig Unit freight cars. Each pair of cars are permanently coupled together and are connected by a diaphragm. They are well detailed with large lettering for Stckgut Schnellverkehr / Less-than-Carload-Lot Service. The total train length over the buffers is: 29-1/2.
