Lionel 6-14005 O Gauge Operating Coal Ramp EX/Box – Model Train Junction: Quality Parts and Art Supplies

Here is a Lionel 6-14005 O Gauge Operating Coal Ramp. This accessory is a reissue of the classic 456 Coal Ramp from 1950-55. The coal ramp allows you to back a 3456 or other operating hopper cars up the ramp, couple it with the coupler at the top of the ramp and then uncouple the car from the rest of the train. There is a 3rd button on the controller to unload the coal through the hatches on the bottom of the 3456 car, just like the real ones! If you also have a 397 coal loader with the maroon transfer bin, you can save a big mess by diverting all that coal back into the 397 coal loader so you can load it again. This ramp features a die-cast frame, aluminum ramp, nickel plated brass handrails and steel posts and an exterior light that illuminates when the Hopper is coupled.
