Here is a Lionel 6-12729 O Operating Mail Pickup Set from the early 1990s. When activated by a passing train, the arm swings out and the mailbag is picked up by the train. Be forewarned–to make this accessory work you must glue a magnet to the inside of a car. The semaphore arm also swings down as the train passes. The accessory stands about 8 inches tall.
